I believe that movement is essential for healing, and I'm here to guide you on your journey to better foot and ankle health. My goal is to provide compassionate and effective foot and ankle care to patients of all ages. Our team is dedicated to helping you or your loved ones overcome foot-related issues to restore their mobility and improve their quality of life. The most common conditions that people seek me for are heel pain, sports and running injuries, foot and ankle wounds, and ingrown toenails, but we also treat many other foot and ankle issues. When you arrive at our office, we'll do a comprehensive evaluation to identify the cause of your problem. We provide advanced treatments like class 4 laser therapy to alleviate pain and promote healing. Laser therapy is used for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, arthritis, ankle sprains and fractures, and nerve pain, and it can also be used to treat the dreaded nail fungus. We provide you with education on exercises and supply customized treatments such as orthotics in order to prevent recurrence and maintain foot health. Professional Experience

Dr. Nora Zoe Ramos-Carthew has been practicing podiatric medicine for over 20 years and is pleased to bring her passion and knowledge to the California East Bay Area.

A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Ramos attended the University of Puerto Rico for her Biology undergraduate studies and continued her education at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. Dr. Ramos completed her surgical residency at Westchester General Hospital in Miami, Florida. She is board-certified in foot surgery by the ABFAS (American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons) and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Ramos worked in private practice in Coral Gables, Florida, for 12 years and followed her husband to Houston, Texas, where she worked for eight more years in private practice. Her husband’s career then took her and her son to Angola, Africa. There, she worked as a volunteer podiatrist with the Expat community and with the Friends of Luanda Street Children and Orphans (FOLSCO) group for two years, treating the wounds of the children who lived on the streets. These children kept a piece of her heart, and she greatly missed them. When it was time to repatriate back to the US, they were blessed to be able to relocate to the beautiful East Bay Area of California near family, where they have finally settled.

At Forward Foot & Ankle Center, we always start with conservative treatments to try to resolve your painful or limiting foot, ankle, heel, or toe condition. However, in some situations, a minimally invasive in-office surgical procedure is the only way to achieve permanent relief. Remember, seeking treatment early is essential. Reach out to our Livermore podiatrist by calling 925-532-0002 or requesting an appointment online. I look forward to meeting you soon and helping you find relief from your heel pain.
